Police looking for man who held pizza worker at gunpoint
EVERETT -- Police are asking for public help to find the man who entered a Papa Murphy's restaurant with a gun, threw a cash register on the ground and stole money before fleeing the scene.
It happened at about 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at the restaurant on 19th Ave. SE in Everett. Police say the suspect approached the counter carrying a white towel in one hand and wearing a clear, plastic glove on the other.
He asked the female employee if she had change for a dollar. She waited for him to pull out his money, but instead, he threatened her for all the money in the register. While the employee didn't see the weapon, she believed he had a gun in his pocket.
When the woman called 911, the man grabbed the cash register and slammed it on the ground. It popped open, and he took the money and ran.
The suspect was last seen running southbound on 19th Ave. SE toward Silver Lake.
He is described as white, 20-30 years old, 5-foot-9 inches tall with a slender build, blue eyes and brown hair. The employee described his face as 'sunken' with facial stubble. He was wearing a black or gray zip up jacket with the hood covering his head.
The same Papa Murphy's was hit again on Nov. 10. A passerby called 911 to report two men breaking the front window of the business. Police arrived to find the business burglarized but no one was inside.
The suspects in that case are described as two black men, in a light grey or silver car.
Police don't know if the two cases are related. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
