Sammamish PD investigates possible child luring near elementary school

Some families in Sammamish received a message on Monday, informing them of a possible attempted child luring near an elementary school.

The principal of Margaret Mead Elementary School says a student was riding his bike to school when a man in a white van approached him.

The man allegedly tried to get the student to get into the van. The student reported it to his parents, who then informed the school.

The couple’s 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter were playing outside when that car pulled up. Their son ran inside and told Shannon what happened. She immediately ran outside.

The Sammamish Police Department says it is working closely with Mead Elementary to further investigate this incident.

Both Sammamish PD and Mead Elementary reminded parents to have their kids walk or ride with another student or in groups.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact Sammamish Police.
