Man injured in drive-by shooting on SR 167

Washington State Patrol troopers report the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Washington State Patrol troopers arrested a suspect following a drive-by shooting on the southbound State Route 167 in Renton on Thursday. 

What we know:

The incident unfolded when the driver of a Volkswagen allegedly fired shots at a driver in a Dodge Ram along  off-ramp to 180th Street.

According to initial reports from Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson, the victim sustained a shoulder wound during the gunfire and was transported to a local hospital.

While the victim's injuries were initially described as non-life-threatening, authorities later updated the victim's condition to serious.

Troopers took the suspect into custody at the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing.
