U.S. Marshals arrest fugitive on outstanding warrants from 2007 child rape

The U.S. Marshals arrested 57-year-old fugitive Timothy Martin in Seattle on Wednesday for outstanding warrants stemming from a 2007 conviction of first-degree rape of a child.

Martin was wanted by the Washington Department of Corrections for violating the terms of his lifetime supervision after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in 2007. That warrant had been outstanding since it was issued on December 8, 2021.

Martin had a separate warrant issued in June from the King County Sheriff's Office for failing to register as a sex offender.

What we know:

Martin was located in a tiny house village in the 1600 block of 15th Avenue West in Interbay and was arrested without incident by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.

"Sexual predators who violate the conditions of their supervision will be held accountable," Acting U.S. Marshal Donrien Stephens said in a press release. "Our task force remains committed to locating these offenders and protecting our communities from those who pose a threat to public safety."

Martin complained of medical issues related to drug use after his arrest and was provided first aid at the scene while evaluated by medical personnel. He was eventually booked into the SCORE Jail (South Correctional Entity) in Des Moines.
