Woman charged with felony after Everett dog attacks
EVERETT -- An Everett woman has been charged with a felony after her dogs attacked five people last summer, the Everett Herald reported. At least one cat was also killed during the Aug. 25, 2012, biting incident, after the pit bull terrier and boxer escaped their yard on Lombard Avenue. During the ordeal, police used a loud speaker to warn people to stay inside their homes until the animals were caught.
The pit bull died after a police officer shot her with a Taser in an attempt to subdue her. The boxer was quarantined and eventually euthanized, according to the Herald.
The owner of the dogs, Michelle Patino, was recently charged with having a dangerous dog, a felony. Prosecutors will have to prove Patino should have known her dogs were potentially dangerous, the paper reported.
