A cool & showery start to the work week with warmer and drier weather on the way.

Yes, we were very chilly today across the Northwest.  Temperatures ran 10+ degrees below average.  In fact, according to the National Weather Service, we missed breaking a 50-year-old record low maximum temperature by a degree. (56 in 1972). 

Cooler weather chills out weekend plans at Lake Washington

You had to plan for much cooler weather if you were heading outside this weekend. We talked to some residents that spent their Sunday dodging raindrops at Lake Washington and wishing for summer-like temperatures.

This atmospheric river will move through the area through Thursday night, bringing heavy rain at times to the coast, Puget Sound area, and the Cascades.

Seattle weather:  Heavy rain and breezy winds on the way Thursday into Friday

Overnight will remain dry, except for a few scattered showers at the coast. Rain will continue to pick up throughout Thursday with the strongest rain falling during the evening commute.
