Seattle weather: Winds relax Sunday, winter storms remain in Cascades

Gusty winds blew into Western Washington overnight and early Saturday.  Winds peaked around 50-60 mph around the coast, the Inlet and even into portions of the North Sound near Everett.  Power outages and some minor tree damage were reported around the area.  The winds will continue to relax throughout the night and Sunday.

Gusty winds blew into Western Washington on Saturday morning.

We will continue to see some scattered showers and cooler overnight lows dipping into the upper 30s. Temperatures will remain around freezing and lower over the passes and into Central Washington.

While the widespread rain has ended around our region, we will continue to see post-frontal showers overnight.  Rainfall amounts will be generally less, around a tenth of an inch or so.  Rain will wrap up by the afternoon and remain dry into the evening for Sunday's Seahawks game here at home at Lumen Field.

Snow will continue to fall in the Cascades overnight.  The winter weather alerts will expire on Sunday, but another round of heavy snow is expected again by Monday.

While we get a little drier weather by Sunday evening, it will be short lived as another disturbance arrives on Monday with a return to rainy skies.  Much of the week will be unsettled with additional shower chances.
