4.1 magnitude earthquake strikes Alaska
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Alaska on Thursday afternoon.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported the quake struck around 3:24 p.m. PT in the Chugach Mountains near the city of Valdez, which has a population of about 3,900. The epicenter was east of Anchorage.

The USGS reported the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 2.5 miles.
Though a 4.1 magnitude earthquake is relatively moderate on the Richter scale, a quake of this size is often felt and can cause small damage.
So far, 30 people have reported feeling the quake to the USGS.
Anyone who felt it is encouraged to report it to the USGS on its website.
