A yearly tradition: 4th of July ferry traffic
SEATTLE -- Ferry waits around the Puget Sound crept up Thursday, with some local ferries reporting waits as long as two hours.
The Washington state Department of Transportation reported a two hour wait in Edmonds for cars departing on the Edmonds/Kingston ferry at 10:10 a.m. A two hour wait for vehicles in Mukilteo was also reported on the Mukilteo/Clinton ferries.
Officials in Anacortes recommended arriving at least one hour early for the Anacortes to San Juan Island ferry route. Reservations were also encouraged for the Anacortes to Sidney B.C. ferry.
