Bellevue's K-9 team now have bulletproof vests to protect them on the job

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- All three of Bellevue's K-9 officers will be a lot safer on the job now.

K-9 officer 'Ozzy' on Thursday got a new bulletproof vest, courtesy of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's foundation and the Bellevue Police Foundation.

Ozzy was the last of Bellevue's three-dog team to get one. Throughout the season, Roethlisberger's foundation gave money to police departments in every one of the cities the Steelers played in during this NFL season.

"Just like we wear body armor as officers, the dogs need it as well," Bellevue Lt. Andrew Popochock said.
