Domestic violence call at gas station leads to arrest of accused 'drug-rip' duo

FUGITIVES CAPTURED July 27, 2013 -- Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County says shooting suspects, Joel Eveline and Tyiara Mechtley, were arrested on Saturday in Tumwater. The incident started with a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident at a gas station in Tumwater. Tumwater police say the two tried driving off, then running off when that didn't work, before being caught.

FUGITIVES WANTED IN TACOMA July 26, 2013 -- This is one duo police say you don't want to be buying drugs from. Joel Eveline and Tyiara Mechtley are wanted by Tacoma police for assault and robbery. The two are accused of ending a drug deal in a McDonalds parking lot -- with a bullet. Detectives said Mechtley was in charge and that it started with her hooking up with the targets -- in jail, of all places. Once everyone was out, police said she set them up to buy prescription pills near the Tacoma Mall, but had Eveline with her -- and he had an itchy trigger finger. "Obviously, they're armed and considered dangerous. They could easily have left with the drugs and the money, without having to shoot anybody, and they chose to shoot someone they knew at least as an acquaintance," Loretta Cool with the Tacoma Police Department said. Joel Eveline is 30-years-old and Tyiara Mechtley is 20-years-old. If you know either one of the and know where they are hiding out call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. Your call is guaranteed to be anonymous and you could be in line for up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to their arrest. You can also text a tip here.
