Everett man accused of taking police gun in Seattle riot faces murder charge

A man accused of taking a rifle from a burned-out Seattle police car during a riot last spring now faces a murder charge in an unrelated shooting.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday it had charged Jacob D. Little, 25, of Everett, with second-degree murder and second-degree assault for a shooting in a Renton parking lot in August that left one person dead and another injured.

Little faces arraignment on Feb. 1. His attorney, George Davenport, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Saturday.

Little is already in federal custody facing a charge that he took a rifle and silencer from a torched Seattle police car on May 30, during rioting over the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police.

According to a probable cause statement filed in support of the murder and assault charges, the shooting occurred early on Aug. 30 during a meeting of car enthusiasts in a Renton parking lot. Several fights broke out, and Renton Police Detective Jason Renggli wrote that video evidence shows Little and a man named D’Andre Flynn firing handguns into the air. As Flynn then turned and walked away, Little aimed at Flynn’s back and fired two shots.

One bullet killed Flynn, and another injured a 15-year-old boy who was sitting in a car and had nothing to do with the dispute, the detective wrote. The boy, who was hit in the shoulder, survived.

Another man was shot a handful of times in the legs, but police haven’t been able to determine who fired those shots.

A friend who was with Little told police that Little and Flynn had argued before the shooting, with each pressing handguns into the other’s midsection, the detective wrote.
