Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Everett and later found injured at the Northgate transit station. Authorities say he boarded a bus after the attack and was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
SEATTLE - Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Everett, then boarded a bus and attempted to take a light rail to reach Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Monday morning.
What we know:
The stabbing happened between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. at a store in North Everett, according to Everett Police. The 36-year-old man then boarded a Sound Transit Route 512 Bus, which is operated by Community Transit.
The man was trying to get to Harborview Medical Center, but ended up at the Northgate Transit Center. There, a station security guard saw the man was stabbed in the abdomen and called for help.

First responders showed up and took the man to Harborview, his intended destination. He was in surgery as of Monday afternoon, according to police.
What we don't know:
There are still many unknowns being investigated in this case. Police have not revealed where the initial stabbing happened in North Everett and are still determining what led up to it.
It’s unclear why the man was trying to get to Harborview Medical Center, which is 20 miles away from where he was stabbed, instead of a closer hospital. Police are still investigating.
The stabbing suspect is believed to be male, according to Everett PD. Anyone who knows anything about this incident is asked to call Everett Police.
