Mom found dead, girl rescued from car
SEATTLE -- A 36 year old Renton woman was found dead at Grayland Beach State Park Sunday morning, said Pacific County Sheriff Scott Johnson.
The woman's 8-year-old daughter had to be rescued from a vehicle nearby that was surrounded by water.
Johnson said the woman and her daughter left Renton around 4 a.m. Sunday and headed to Grayland, where the woman was believed to be fishing along the beach.
People walking on the beach found the woman dead around 8:45 a.m.
A short time later the 8-year-old girl was spotted in the vehicle and rescued, said Johnson.
The girl is in the custody of Washington State Child Protective Services.
