No mayoral endorsement from King County Labor Council
SEATTLE - They debated for two hours, and in the end, the King County Labor Council failed to endorse a candidate for mayor of Seattle. The Seattle Times reported that the council's executive board had recommended dual endorsement for Mayor Mike McGinn and state Sen. Ed Murrary earlier in the day on Wednesday. The motion failed to win the two-thirds supports from the council delegates, the paper reported.
The Labor Council did approve dual endorsement of Seattle City Councilmember Mike O'Brien and challenger Albert Shen. The Times reported that the last time the council failed to endorse an encumbent mayor was when Paul Schell sought re-election in 2001.
The Labor Council executive board could recommend a sole mayoral endorsement at the next Labor Council meeting on September 19th, the paper reported.
