Pilot uninjured after seaplane sinks during landing attempt in WA
KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. - A pilot is alive and uninjured after his seaplane sank while attempting to land on Long Lake Wednesday afternoon.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) first announced the incident at 1:39 p.m. on social media, sharing a photo of the pilot sitting on top of the overturned plane. In the post, they added that a KCSO boat was on its way to help.
Authorities say he was the only person aboard the plane.
About seven minutes later, deputies announced that someone on a private boat had come to his rescue, bringing him to safety with no reports of injuries.
Details about what caused the seaplane to sink during the landing attempt remain unknown.
