Resident forced to jump from 3rd floor in apartment fire
DES MOINES, Wash. -- At least one individual jumped from the third floor of a burning apartment building early Monday in Des Moines, firefighters reported.
Rooms at the Sea Fox Apartments caught fire shortly after 2 a.m. in the 2600 block of South 224th Street. According to firefighters, the fire ran into the attic and quickly turned into a 2-alarm blaze. The fire was still very active at 5: 10 a.m.
At least one individual had to jump from his third story apartment building, firefighters said, and he was treated for a minor foot injury. No other injuries were immediately reported. At least 18 units were completely destroyed.
