Teen killed, three others injured in shooting at Federal Way park
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Federal Way Police are investigating a deadly shooting at Steel Lake Park that killed a 17-year-old boy and injured three others.
Officers say the first calls for help came in around 10 p.m. Monday for reports of shots fired at Steel Lake Park in Federal Way.
Police arrived on the scene to find a 17-year-old boy dead. Another man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A 12-year-old boy was driven to the hospital, and a fourth shooting victim called police after 11 p.m. to say he'd been shot.
Witnesses said the 17-year-old and the man with life-threatening injuries were fighting when a woman who was associated with both men started firing a gun.
Police said the 12-year-old boy was not associated with the group that was fighting when the shooting happened. He was with his family getting ready to leave the park.
All of the victims are from Tacoma, police said.
