Two escape from burning home in Lake City
SEATTLE - Two people were lucky to escape from a burning home in Seattle Thursday night.
Around 7:40 p.m., firefighters were called to the home in the 13000 block of 35th Ave. NE in Lake City, after receiving multiple 911 calls of flames coming from the home's second floor.
When they arrived on scene, they found flames shooting 15 feet into the air from the home's roof.
The flames did spread to a neighboring tree before firefighters were able to put the fire out, but they were able to prevent the flames from damaging two nearby homes.
Fire investigators determined the fire was caused by a kitchen stove, and is accidental in nature.
The home is being called a total loss - with damage estimated at $400,000 to the structure and $50,000 to the contents.
