In the first week of the Washington State Legislature's 2026 regular session , the granddaughter of an 80-year-old woman carjacked and murdered in Seattle is fighting back against a bill proposed by Senator Bob Hasegawa (D), Senator Claire Wilson (D) and Senator T'wina Nobles (D) to change Washington State's three-strikes law. If passed, critics say Senate Bill 5945 would put criminals' rights over victims' rights.
