Seattle weather: Another cold start Friday with a chance for mixed showers

We're stuck in a very cool and showery spring weather pattern into the weekend.  A stubborn area of low pressure off the coast continues to spin wintry showers into the region.  This will be the case again Friday as you get out the door.

Winter-like weather continues across the state for the next few days

By tomorrow morning, very early, don't be surprised if some of us way south wake up to more snow on the ground, but again, temperatures will warm and everything will melt. Just allow for extra time when heading out the door as lows will start off near freezing for many areas.

Today, high-level clouds will give us a "filtered sunshine" effect. By 10 p.m., rain will push along the Central and North Coast. By 2-3 a.m., heavy rain could sweep through Puget Sound.? By 7 a.m. Friday, showers will become more isolated, but some rain could be heavy. There could even be a few lightning strikes or small hail. Friday will be partly sunny and breezy - not to mention noticeably cooler as well. A little mountain snow could slow down traffic over the passes.

Get ready for 70 as we soar 10 degrees above-average Thursday

High pressure still driving the forecast tomorrow keeping skies partly sunny with temperatures rising into the upper 60s to low 70s. Thursday's highs will likely be the warmest of the year so far!  The record to beat is 78 set back in 2016, but most of us will hover around 70.
