Record setting rain ends, drier Halloween weekend ahead

An atmospheric river brought an intense amount of rain to Western Washington from Thursday to Friday, which has prompted river flood alerts for the region. 

Our Weather Alert will expire as we move into the weekend with a drying trend coming our way!

Wow! What a day!  Steady rain and gusty winds dominating the forecast for sure.  Many locations seeing over an inch of rain inland with over two inches falling along the north coast and into the Olympics. This all thanks to our atmospheric river that continues to drop an intense amount of rain out of the sky!

Heavy rain and breezy winds are hitting Western Washington and the Cascades this morning as an atmospheric river takes aim at the state.

Are you ready for another round of sloppy weather?  We have another atmospheric river heading our way that will deliver heavy rain at times through early Friday morning.  Winds will become gusty too!  With widespread rain and breezy to windy conditions the FOX13 Weather Team is issuing a "Weather Alert Day" for Thursday.

The next big system will ride over the Pacific as an Atmospheric River. The timing for the long, narrow belt of moisture is expected to hit our area late evening Wednesday through Thursday.
