Seattle weather: Chances for more lowland snow this week
A low pressure system will continue to spin in cold showers and snow over the next few days, with tough morning commutes ahead.
Gusty Fraser Valley outflow winds will keep western Whatcom County below freezing most of the week, with wind chills in the single digits.
Keep reading for a breakdown of what to expect in the coming days.
Mainly dry in Seattle on Tuesday night
The area of low pressure has moved slightly further off the coast, so moisture has decreased a bit today. The night will be mainly dry with only a few isolated flurries around. No significant accumulations are expected.
The nature of these spotty showers makes this a tough forecast, but areas south of Seattle have the best chance of seeing accumulating snow on Wednesday morning before temperatures warm.
Temperatures will be cold overnight, especially in Whatcom County where windchill readings will drop into the single digits. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect there till 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

A break in the clouds allows for colder temperatures tonight compared to last night.

Wind chills dropping into the single digits overnight.
Increasing chances for lowland snow Wednesday
Wednesday evening will bring the best chance of lowland snow over the next few days. The best chance for accumulating snow will be from King County south, but areas north of Seattle could also see some light accumulation. It will all depend on where the showers show up and where the heaviest bands develop.

Moisture is forecast to increase during Wednesday with another shot at lowland snow by the evening hours.
While conditions will be mainly dry for most spots overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, any moisture that is still on area roadways will freeze and lead to another slick commute. Use caution and drive for the conditions.

After a dry Tuesday, another chance for lowland snow will hit Wednesday morning. (FOX 13 Seattle)
Rain and snow later this week
The low pressure system will push inland on Friday, drying things out across western Washington heading into the weekend. A slight chance of showers will remain in the forecast, but it looks mainly dry. Temperatures will stay cool for Super Bowl weekend, with highs about 10 degrees below average.

An unsettled week ahead with slight chances for additional mixed precipitation.
