Widespread rain returns to the Seattle area early Friday morning
SEATTLE - Thursday will bring dry conditions for the Puget Sound area with morning clouds and afternoon sunshine, with the next round of rain set to hit overnight.
Skies will slowly clear again on Thursday, with plenty of sunshine mixed in for the afternoon. High temperatures will remain slightly above average.

In north central Washington, morning fog will be followed by a mix of afternoon clouds and sunshine. High temperatures will remain chilly today, in the low 30s. A chance of snow returns Friday morning for some of the higher elevations.

Rain returns to Seattle on Friday
The next frontal system will push through western Washington early Friday morning, bringing widespread lowland rain and mountain snow. A quarter of an inch to a half-inch of rain is possible for the Puget Sound lowlands.

Initially, the precipitation will fall as rain for our Cascade mountain passes, but snow levels will fall to between 3,000 and 4,000 feet by the afternoon or early evening. Any precipitation left over will fall as snow on Friday night and Saturday.
A Puget Sound convergence zone could develop over the central Washington Cascades, bringing bigger snowfall amounts to areas around Stevens and Snoqualmie passes.

The weekend will be dry for most with sunnier skies expected by Sunday afternoon.
