Seattle weather: Rainy first weekend of 2025

Scattered showers are around for Friday night, but another round of rain increasing along the coast by the morning and spreading inland by the afternoon. Rainfall totals will range around .25"- .50". The lowland rain will transition into snow at about 3500 feet. Chances for snow will continue into Sunday morning before drying out by the afternoon.
Another disturbance will move in and spread more rain, beginning along the coast, then inland by the afternoon.
After the wet start to our weekend, the extended models are looking drier for much of the West Coast, including western Washington.
After this upcoming wet weekend, the outlook calls for drier than normal conditions.
As snow continues to pile up in the mountains, and folks are traveling over the passes, be prepared for winter driving conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the mountains above 3500'. Our Cascade range could pick up 6-10" of snow this weekend.
Additional snow is forecast to fall in the mountains over the weekend. Some spots may see up to 10".
All of our ski resorts have picked up a little snow in the last 24 hours, with more snow falling Friday night and into the weekend. Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy some fresh power!
