Mariners win eighth straight, beat Cleveland 4-3

SEATTLE -- Don't look now, but the Seattle Mariners, yes, the Seattle Mariners have the longest win streak in major league baseball.

Kyle Seager had three hits and Mike Zunino drove in the go ahead run as the Mariners won their eighth straight with a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Mariners closer, Tom Wilhelmsen pitched out of a 9th inning jam by getting Yan Gomes to ground out in an unlikely double play.  Gomes chopped to third base and Seager immediately threw to second to get pinch-runner Mike Aviles.  Drew Stubbs started to break for home and Nick Franklin threw to the plate.  Stubbs was caught in a run down and eventually tagged out by shortstop Brad Miller.  Wilhelmsen then struck out Michael Bourn looking to end it.

The Mariners will look for their ninth straight win in a matinee affair against the Indians at Safeco Field on Wednesday.  The last time the Mariners won nine straight was back in 2003.

Mariners manager, Eric Wedge spent a second night in a Seattle area hospital as doctors tried to determine the cause of dizziness that sent Wedge to the hospital a day earlier.
