RENTON, Wash. - A 34-year-old man accused of killing his mother in her Renton apartment early Tuesday morning is being charged with first-degree murder.
Investigators say they found chilling proof on his phone that Sean Lowe had been threatening his mother just hours before she died.
What they're saying:
Renton Police say video on Sean Lowe's own phone shows him telling his mother that her death was "imminent." He's also accused of calling a crematorium and leaving a voicemail around the time police believe he killed her.
"It doesn’t seem right because it’s supposed to be her son," said Sean Williams, Files' friend and neighbor.

Williams says Leda Files' Facebook page shows the kind eyes of a woman who treated her neighbors like family. He says she lived alone in this apartment for quite some time until her son Sean Lowe moved in around the holidays.
"Everything is so sudden," said Williams.
Timeline:
Investigators now accuse Lowe of smothering her, leaving a series of disturbing clues behind.
Court documents state that, "he called 911 to report her death and, prior to that, called a crematorium and left a message on their voicemail."
He's also accused of telling dispatchers that he, "came to the residence to help his mom because she was dying."
Police said in court documents that he did not tell dispatch, "his mother needed air or medical assistance or that she was possibly deceased, until continuously probed[…]" Also, officers said, "The tone and calmness […] was in stark contrast to the way he interacted with both patrol officers and investigators."
"There’s all this commotion outside, and I’m like, ‘Whoa,’" said Williams about Lowe's arrest.
Court documents state that when officers arrived, they "found Lowe sitting on a couch outside the apartment area."

They reported, "Lowe was ‘rambling’ and was saying something about having a seizure and when he woke up, his mom was dead."
Officers stated that Files was found, "face down between the wall and the bed of the bedroom." They say she had small, purple bruises on her neck.
Police say it took numerous officers to get Lowe in handcuffs. They said, "Lowe began to pull his arms away from officers, and started to kick his feet and legs."
"Her son was out there screaming and yelling," said Williams, who had gone outside to see what was going on.
Officers said while Lowe was "laying on the hospital gurney" at Valley Medical Center, "There was a period of silence and Lowe said, ‘I killed my mother’."
Dig deeper:
Detectives say they got a warrant and searched his phone. It is shown in the evidence picture below.

They reported finding a video that Lowe had shot on the phone labeled as "Today." Investigators say the video showed, "Files sitting on her bed, wearing the same clothing that she was found in after she was murdered."
In the video, investigators said Lowe accused his mom of "hiding something." Police said he also called himself "God" and claimed, "nobody can touch me."
The video also allegedly shows Lowe saying, "there are demons around." Police said he also asked his mom, "Do you want to go to Hell?"
Court documents also stated that, "Lowe tells Files that he knows where she is going to die." Files responded by saying, "I’m being held hostage in my own home."
Investigators said, "Files says that her heart has always been with Lowe since the day that he was born, and Lowe says no it hasn’t."
Files also reportedly expressed fear of her son, saying, "Because you’re being psycho […] yes, you are […] that’s why I’m afraid of you."
Williams said that Files had called him about an hour and a half before they found her. He had called her back right away, and she told him it was an accidental call. He wishes he'd gone to check on her.
"Man, I wish I'd gone over there," he said.
He also said at one point, Lowe's mother had tried to get him help.
"Supposedly they gave him pills for his condition and then this happens. I don’t understand. It's really hard," said Williams.
What's next:
Prosecutors say that Lowe has a criminal history, including third-degree attempted assault for assaulting an officer in 2016 and had prior arrests for narcotics possession in Wyoming.
Officers reported finding a glass pipe and baggies containing white powder in the home.
Bail for Lowe was set at $5 million.
