Police are calling it an isolated incident – meaning it could have been targeted, but some neighbors are feeling unsettled.

What they're saying:

"I moved away from Seattle because there was so much crime in there, you know? So I decided to sell my house and move into this condo here, you know, safe," said neighbor Malatu Aumoeualogo. "But there’s no place to go to be safe. Crime’s everywhere."

What we don't know:

Detectives are now trying to understand the relationship between the 42-year-old male suspect and the victim who lived at the apartments. According to the Cedar River Terrace website, residents must be at least 62 years old to live there.

The Washington Crime Lab is assisting the Renton Police Department in the investigation.

What's next:

The suspect's first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
