Seattle weather: Next system brings light rain, mountain snow to passes

Here is a look at the 72-hour rainfall totals (during the atmospheric river). Some of the largest rainfall totals we saw were correlated with the major river flooding.

We have team coverage as many areas across Western Washington are experiencing flooding concerns. Many of our local rivers are overflowing, some at record-breaking levels.

An atmospheric river weather pattern is blasting heavy, excessive rain across Western Washington. This will elevate the threat for flooding of many kinds, particularly for local rivers, as well as raising the risk for landslides and strong winds.

After a wet & gusty morning paired with heavy mountain snow, conditions have calmed down this evening. Scattered showers and a few more inches of snow are possible overnight.
