Western Washington is set for a warm and occasionally hazy start to the week before cooler temperatures and potential rain arrive by the weekend.

Firefighters in Palo Pinto County are battling a large grass fire near Highway 180 and Ross Watson Road, forcing a road closure and threatening at least one structure.

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun is directing several state agencies to launch investigations into the utility provider, NIPSCO, as thousands of Hoosiers remain without power following severe weather that struck two weeks ago.

The Goat Fire is the latest lightning fire to spark up in Kittitas County over the weekend, prompting evacuations north of the small community of Roslyn. Two other fires are also burning in the county. 

A ridge of high pressure will begin building into our region on Monday.  The hot, dry conditions will lead to a high fire risk as critical burn conditions settle in through Tuesday. 

Level 3 “Go Now" evacuation zones extend across northwest Reno, while evacuation warnings remain in effect across surrounding communities.

A fire in Yakima County that started as a vegetation fire has grown to over 38,000 acres in a little over 24 hours, prompting evacuation orders and warnings for residents of Yakima and Benton counties.

As temperatures rise, smoke could become a bigger concern.

Hawaii is bracing for another round of severe weather as Tropical Storm Moke spins its way toward the Big Island, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to an area still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Lala. 

Sunday will start with morning clouds and a couple of showers, followed by increasing sunshine through the afternoon.

Cooler temperatures, chance of showers for the Puget Sound and rumbles of thunder for the mountains Saturday.
