Woman hit by car in Seattle's South Park neighborhood, dies in hospital
SEATTLE - A woman was hit by a car in Seattle's South Park neighborhood and later died in the hospital, police said Monday.
According to Seattle Police, at 5:41 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash involving a car and pedestrian at the intersection of 14th Avenue South and South Henderson Street.
A 56-year-old woman was found injured at the scene. She was immediately taken to Harborview Medical Center, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
The intersection was closed off as officers investigated.
SPD says the driver, a 24-year-old man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Officers determined the driver made a left turn and struck the victim in the crosswalk. No signs of impairment were detected, and no arrest was made.
