Seattle Mariners announce sale of Single-A Modesto Nuts
The Seattle Mariners have reached an agreement to sell the Modesto Nuts to Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH), the team announced Thursday.
DBH, which owns and operates several Minor League Baseball teams affiliated with Major League Baseball, will take ownership of the club.
As part of the sale, 2025 will be the final season for the Modesto Nuts. Throughout that season, home games will be dedicated to honoring the team’s rich history in the city. The team’s entire front office staff, led by General Manager Veronica Hernandez, will remain in place for the 2025 season.
In 2026, the Mariners' Single-A affiliate will relocate to San Bernardino, where it will compete as the Inland Empire 66ers.
Founded in 1946, the Modesto Nuts play their home games at John Thurman Field, which opened in 1955. Over the years, the club has won 11 league championships, with the latest coming in 2023.
The sale is expected to be completed soon, pending league approval and the satisfaction of other closing conditions.
