Event aims to guide troubled teens away from youth violence
video

It's been more than a month since two teens were shot and killed at the bus stop near Rainier Beach High School. No arrest has been made. Wednesday night, the public is invited to attend The Cost of Access: Youth, Guns & the Path Forward presented by the non-profit Seattle CityClub. I am moderating a panel discussion and Q and A with the audience with King County Prosecutor Leesa Manion, Seattle PD Capt. Heidi Tuttle and Paul Patu, cofounder of Urban Family, a non-profit providing positive mentorship for kids. It is a solutions-focused conversation about youth gun access, disproportionate involvement in violent crime, and what it will take to create safer pathways for young people. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12.50 for Seniors. Reception at 5:30, program begins at 6:30 pm. The location is The Collective at 400 Dexter Ave N. Find more information on seattlecityclub.org.
