Seattle weather: A mainly dry New Year's Day
SEATTLE - The next storm system to impact Western Washington will approach Thursday night into Friday, bringing breezy easterly winds and rain.
Light showers are ending Monday morning, with mainly dry conditions expected the rest of the day. High temperatures will remain cool, in the mid 40s.

The next round of rain will arrive late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Light showers scattered showers will start the day, with heavier rain arriving late Thursday into early Friday morning. Easterly winds will blow through the Cascade gaps gusting to 25-30 mph in the western foothills.
This weekend will bring scattered showers and mountain snow down to the Cascade passes. Friday through Sunday could bring 5 to 10 inches of snow to Snoqualmie Pass and 10 to 15 inches to Stevens and White passes.
