Man arrested in CA for Federal Way IHOP shooting that killed 2-year-old
2nd arrest made in deadly Federal Way shooting of toddler
Federal Way Police have now make a second arrest in the deadly shooting of a 2-year-old back in April.
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - A 31-year-old man has been arrested in California in connection to a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 2-year-old boy in the parking lot of a Federal Way IHOP.
This is the second arrest made in the shooting, as a 17-year-old suspect was arrested back in October.
On April 4, just before 10 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the IHOP on 178 Southwest Campus Drive. Two-year-old Synsyr Lewis was fatally shot in the head.
Investigators said Synsyr's father and another person were shooting at each other in the parking lot, appearing as an ambush targeting the father.
After months of investigating, Federal Way police arrested 17-year-old Jayson Jack and booked him for first-degree murder.
Jack, the cousin of Synsyr's mother, is accused of circling the parking lot in a stolen car and firing 15 rounds at the vehicle. He was allegedly informed of the father's location beforehand.
