Jewelry Robbery Suspect Charged in $2 Million Smash-and-Grab
A Renton man, DeShawn Harrison, has been arrested and charged with first-degree robbery for a $2 million jewelry heist in West Seattle and is linked to three other smash-and-grab robberies. Harrison was arrested after a K-9 chase and found in possession of a loaded firearm, cash, and illegal narcotics.
SEATTLE - Police arrested a suspect in connection to a $2 million jewelry store heist that happened in West Seattle.
The backstory:
On Aug. 14, Menashe and Sons Jewelers was robbed by four masked men who smashed jewelry cases and made off with millions of dollars worth of goods. They were armed with hammers, bear spray and a taser.

Police said one of the suspects, identified as 29-year-old Da'Sean Harrison, was arrested in Renton for multiple smash-and-grab robberies and additional weapons charges on Oct. 16.
Seattle police have since referred charges to the King County Prosecutor's Office for his alleged involvement in the West Seattle heist.
During the arrest, police said they recovered two guns, ammunition, narcotics and other evidence, however none of the stolen jewelry was located. Police said the suspect is a previously convicted felon and is prohibited from having firearms.

Da'Sean Harrison is accused in three other brazen robberies at Seattle-area pawn shops. One happened at Cash America on Jan. 24 in Renton, where he and two accomplices used sledgehammers to steal more than $300,000 worth of jewelry.
He's also accused of robbing a pawn shop in Shoreline, and is a suspect in a similar robbery with a sledgehammer at the Cash America in Everett on Feb. 6.

Police arrested a man accused of breaking into several Seattle-area pawn shops with a sledgehammer and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry and coins. One of their robberies was captured on surveillance video.
Harrison was booked into the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent and is currently being held on $250,000 bail. He's charged with three counts of first-degree robbery and three counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
The three other suspects involved in the West Seattle robbery are still on the run.
This remains an open and active investigation.
