Sam Campbell

Sam Campbell is a news reporter at FOX 13 Seattle with a decade of coast-to-coast reporting experience and a deep passion for the Pacific Northwest.

Since graduating from Ohio University in 2017, Sam’s journalistic journey has taken him across seven states, covering everything from national politics to hyper-local community issues. An adaptable, multi-platform storyteller, he has worked across every corner of the modern media landscape, including television, radio, newspapers and digital newsrooms.

Before making the jump to FOX 13 Seattle, Sam was a breaking news reporter and fill-in anchor for KIRO Newsradio. From early mornings at active crime scenes to live, unscripted moments with some of Seattle’s most trusted voices, Sam served as the eyes and ears for the Puget Sound region. His field reporting contributed to a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for the newsroom in 2024.

Before planting permanent roots in western Washington, Sam's career took him into the heart of major national stories. He has interviewed former President Joe Biden, embedded with soldiers at the nation's largest U.S. Army training base, and spent months on the ground documenting the homelessness crisis.

Whether he's reporting from a digital newsroom in Portland or the busy streets of New York City, Sam focuses on telling the whole story with composure, accuracy, and deep empathy.

When he’s not chasing a story, Sam is a self-proclaimed "top-tier nerd." He hosts one of the country's top video game podcasts and is always down for a game of Magic: The Gathering or a complex board game. He also loves photography, writing, spending time with his family, and hanging out with his German Shepherd.

As a local foodie, Sam is on a perpetual quest to find the best cheesesteak in the Pacific Northwest (tips are always welcome!).
