We're tracking scattered rain today, but drier weather takes hold just in time for New Year's Eve! One thing we have to watch: the possibility for low-hanging clouds and fog developing around the stoke of midnight tomorrow.

Temperatures will still remain mild, but no records are expected for the remainder of the year. Showers have been hugging the coast for most of the day as a cold front is currently stalled there.

Temperatures soared into the sixties Friday morning, making Friday one of the warmest days at Sea-Tac in recorded history.

A low pressure system moving out of the area will continue to bring rain showers Thursday morning, but the next two days are looking drier.

A record setting 64.7 million skiers and riders across the U.S. hit the slopes last winter. The National Ski Areas Association says after the pandemic more people than ever are pushing to get outdoors. However, that boost in interest comes at a cost.

A low pressure system off the Pacific coast will continue to spin rain into Western Washington through Thursday. Gusty east winds will impact the western Cascade foothills through midday Wednesday.

Scattered showers will increase throughout the day on Wednesday. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. on Wednesday for the Cascade Foothills. Gusts between 45-55 mph are possible.

As forestlands are wiped out by extreme fires, a larger problem is being revealed beyond the damage left behind: it’s what can’t be regenerated – the forests themselves.
