There are four weather alert days posted for Seattle next week in Seattle, with the potential for rivers flooding, scattered street flooding and landslides.

Emergency officials are urging caution along western Washington shorelines this weekend as king tides are expected to bring water levels significantly higher than normal to the region.

More than 16 million people are under Winter Weather Advisories in the mid-Atlantic, waking up to their first snow of the season in parts of Virginia and Maryland, which is creating slick travel conditions and delaying school openings across the region.

Friday will be mild, reaching the mid to low 50s as another round of showers moves through Western Washington. Rain will be lighter for the lowlands, but heavier amounts for the coast and mountains.

After enjoying a stretch of mostly quiet weather, Seattle is gearing up for an extended period of dark skies and rounds of rain.

Whiteout conditions are possible along major U.S. Interstates.

The Shake Alert seismology team said they are now working to review the data, but that it appears the faulty alert might've been caused by a software error.

Temperatures Thursday will be in the mid to upper 40s. It will be a wet start to the day Thursday with scattered showers into the evening.

Low snow has delayed openings at some Washington ski resorts, but others, such as Mission Ridge, plan to open Thursday.

Wednesday will be mainly dry after a few morning sprinkles, but a much wetter pattern sets up for western Washington starting Thursday.

Skies will be dry and mostly cloudy Wednesday, with cooler temperatures. Highs in the mid to low 40s.
