Thursday will be sunny into the afternoon, but temperatures will be a few degrees cooler as the ridge of high pressure breaks down and troughing moves in from the north.

Hot, dry and sunny weather is predicted in Seattle on Wednesday, and it is expected to mostly stick around into the weekend.

Warmer weather will return to western Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday as a brief ridge of high pressure moves over the Pacific Northwest.

On Tuesday, we will start to warm back into the low 80s with temperatures a few degrees above Monday.

Northbound I-5 was fully shut down near Arlington on Monday after a brush fire broke out along the freeway.

The upcoming week will feature warming conditions and a chance of thunderstorms in the Cascades.

A disturbance will drop south out of British Columbia, bringing a chance of some showers and storms to mainly the Cascades.  Some spots east of the mountains will also have a chance at some much-needed rain.  

Cloudy weather is in store in Seattle for much of Sunday, but late afternoon sunbreaks are a possibility. 

A powerful series of undersea quakes, including a 7.4 magnitude tremor, struck off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula on Sunday, triggering tsunami warnings.
