More than 100 firefighters battled an intense building fire in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood this morning.

Some residents spent their Sunday protesting outside of Seattle Children’s Hospital, after they told FOX 13, the hospital stopped its gender-affirming surgeries for transgender youth. The move comes after President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order aimed at stopping federal support for gender-affirming care. The order bans federal support for this health care for transgender people under the age of 19.

More than 100 firefighters battled an intense building fire in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood this morning that left one woman injured. According to Seattle Fire, the call came in around 6:20 a.m. on Sunday morning. Neighbors were reporting seeing flames come through the roof of the building on Northwest 54th Street across from Gilman playground.

Police have arrested a second teen in connection to a series of purse snatchings, including a case in Bellevue that hurt an elderly woman. Last month, we told you about a 72-year-old woman whose purse was stolen at an H Mart parking lot in Bellevue. The teen and his accomplice, 18 year old Madden McGraw, pushed the woman to the ground, leaving her with a broken back.

Protesters took to the streets of West Seattle today to raise their concerns over President Trump's immigration crackdown. More than 200 people carrying signs and chanting slogans along Alki Beach. They say there is a message of unity between the Latinx communities.

If you eat out this weekend, you might notice some businesses across Seattle are raising money for immigrant rights. It comes after the Trump Administration’s crackdown on immigrants, which has led to protests across the country, including Seattle.

There are several other local events celebrating Black History Month this weekend. The Soul of Seattle will take place at Block 41, that is, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. That event helps foster community through food. The goal there is to shed light on the diverse, black owned businesses within Seattle. And then Sunday, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art will host its Celebrating Black Voices Film Festival that's happening from 12-6 p.m., showcasing classic films and contemporary pieces by local filmmakers, offering a really powerful reflection of black experiences and creativity.
