We're tracking hotter weather in the coming days in the Seattle area. Through Tuesday, air quality could drop to at least "moderate" levels at times if not worse. We don't expect major air quality issues at this time, but it could affect those whose health is sensitive to smoke. Highs will warm a degree or two on Saturday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s.

After a blast of September-like weather Wednesday and Thursday, we're tracking a gradual warm-up in Seattle in the days ahead. Between Sunday and Tuesday, highs will soar into the 80s. Fire danger will be elevated during this time.

High temperatures Friday will warm a few degrees as high pressure starts to build offshore. Highs will warm to the mid to upper 70s, even some spots in the low 80s.

After showers end Thursday morning, the Seattle area will be getting back to sun and warmer weather heading into the weekend.

As clouds clear Thursday afternoon, it will still be on the cooler side. Temperatures only reaching the low 70s.

The Seattle region is expected to experience the most rain the area has seen since June 21.

Temperatures will be cooler Wednesday as the front sweeps through, only reaching the low 70s. A rumble of thunder can't be ruled out for the afternoon, especially along the North Cascades.

Western Washington will see its first significant rain in weeks as a system moves through the region Tuesday into Wednesday.
