While it will be a cool and wet start to the weekend, Sunday is looking much better. Skies will begin drying out with a nice warm-up throughout next week, nearing 70 again by Friday.

While thunderstorms can develop almost anytime Saturday — including during the morning or midday hours — the overall thunder potential will likely be slightly higher compared to Friday

A pair of weather systems will sweep through western Washington on Friday and Saturday, bringing widespread showers, breezy conditions, isolated thunderstorms and temperatures that will feel more like early April than mid-May.

Periods of showers will continue into Saturday as temperatures remain cool, with highs expected in the mid-50s.

Western Washington is staying locked into a cool and unsettled weather pattern as we head into the second half of the week.

Rainy and windy conditions moved through Western Washington earlier Wednesday, with periods of heavy rain at times leading to ponding on roads and slower travel across parts of the region.

Even after Wednesday's early morning rain, the rest of the week will remain unsettled.

After several days of warm and sunny spring weather, western Washington is about to make a dramatic turn back toward a more familiar May pattern.

We're expecting an 80-degree day Tuesday, before temperatures dip back into the 60s for the rest of the week.
