This wet weather is all due to an "atmospheric river" pattern; this is when a corridor of moist, subtropical moisture gets transported to the West Coast. While this particular event is only minor to moderate, the biggest impacts will be felt on the roads. Driving around Western Washington will be slippery and tricky.
