Seattle-area firefighters are headed east to aid in containing the Spokane Complex Fires, which devastated the area of eastern Washington over the weekend.

The Spokane Complex Fires, consisting of three fires burning across north Spokane, is being regarded as one of the most damaging wildfires in Washington state history, forcing tens of thousands of people out of their homes.

Wildfire smoke pouring into western Washington is expected to cause a significant dip in air quality overnight into Tuesday for the Seattle area.

Officials say over 700 structures have been lost to the Spokane, WA wildfires. Crews are continuing to monitor the exact numbers through satellites and aerial supervision.

Officials say that an estimated 65,000 people were evacuated from the Spokane area in the span of a few hours on Saturday, due to the Eastern WA wildfires.
