The Puget Sound region finally sees a day without NWS weather alerts! A cool, drying pattern will continue into the workweek.

Saturday night's convergence zone brought a light dusting of snow to parts of the lowlands, but the mountains scored big with the much-needed snow.  Amounts ranged between 7–15" in our Cascades passes and ski resorts. 

Western Washington lowlands are drying out, and getting colder, as mountain snow ramps up.

A drier weekend is ahead with chilly nights and foggy mornings. It will be a quieter end of the year with a few showers returning by New Year's Day.

An impactful shot of snow and ice will blast through the Northeast set to dump snow threatening post-Christmas holiday travel at major airports and highways across the region.

Highs in the mid to low 40s, a few degrees below seasonal average. Scattered showers and mountain snow, possible late lower snowflakes.

Christmas Day started off relatively calm with isolated showers. Heading into the overnight hours, up to a foot of snow will roll into the mountain regions for a much needed snowpack boost.

A quiet and calm Christmas Eve is forecast around Western Washington.  Lighter winds with mainly dry skies overnight.  Some evening cloud breaks will allow for chilly overnight lows in the 30s. 

In the morning, the strongest winds are focused over the Cascade gaps (e.g. North Bend and Enumclaw). We've seen forceful gusts to 60+ mph over Crystal Mountain and the South Cascades.

The city of Pacific held a meeting Tuesday night to talk about what happened during this month's destructive flooding and to discuss resources for residents.
