Thousands of customers are still without power Monday morning after this weekend's windstorm.

As Hurricane Melissa intensifies into a powerful Category 4 storm with the potential to reach Category 5 strength, U.S. authorities at Naval Station Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, have begun evacuating non-mission-essential U.S. citizens.

A gusty night around Western Washington!  As a strong area of low pressure moved inland, winds picked up around the region, gusting to over 70mph in spots along the coast.  Winds in the interior lowlands topped out at over 40 mph. 

Law enforcement in Pierce County have confirmed one person is dead and multiple more were injured when a tree fell on a Halloween event near Roy, Washington on Saturday.

The active and stormy weather continues in the Seattle area through Saturday. This afternoon and tonight, we're forecasting moderately strong winds that could result in additional power outages and tree limbs coming down. 

It will be cooler Saturday with highs in the mid 50s, scattered showers and gusty winds.
