We're expecting a powerful winter storm to wallop the Cascades, dumping one to three feet of snow! There's even a small chance for a rain/snow mix in the lower elevations Monday morning and evening.

The much advertised storm which is set to bring heavy mountain snow, lowland rain and gusty winds arrives tonight.  By Sunday, the main center and cold front will move in from the north.  The westerly winds will create a rain shadow over the Central Puget Sound by the Olympics.  The westerly winds will also create up-sloping along the Cascades, increasing the snowfall in the mountains.

What's good news for skiers is bad news for pass travelers: we're forecasting heavy mountain snow between tonight and Monday afternoon.

Moving into the weekend, it will be weather whiplash as we are tracking cooler temperatures, windy conditions, rain and lots of snow!

After some patchy morning fog, the Puget Sound area will enjoy another beautiful sunny afternoon to end the work week.

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Washington Cascades early Thursday morning.

It will be a beautiful end to the work week with dry and sunny afternoons Thursday and Friday, but cooler wetter weather is in the forecast for early next week.

Wednesday was a gray and soggy day, but temperatures were mild today, once again warming into the lower 50s.

A low pressure system off the Washington Coast will push showers into Western Washington Wednesday through early Thursday morning.
