Seattle Weather: Heavy Mountain Snow this Week

As we wrap up a damp weekend, we are already tracking the next system.  A few showers will greet us in the morning as many head back to work and school after the holiday break.  We will get a brief break in the rain Monday afternoon before another system arrives early Tuesday morning.  Lowland rain and heavy mountain snow if forecast through Thursday.

Gov. Bob Ferguson is urging residents whose homes were damaged by last month’s flooding to apply for state disaster assistance to help cover immediate needs. Aid is available to qualifying households in King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties, with disaster assistance centers opening in Carnation and Sultan and more locations planned in the coming days.

Seattle Weather: Coastal Flooding Possible on Sunday

Another round of rain for the lowlands is expected on Sunday. Lowland rainfall totals through Monday will range generally between 0.25-0.50" with coastal areas topping out between 0.50-1.00" and 1.00-1.50" for the mountains. Snow levels will drop to near 1500-2000 feet with the wintry mix transitioning to snow during the day on Sunday.
