Highs will be in the 80s Wednesday with sunny skies, but some wildfire smoke aloft.

Morning clouds and afternoon smoky sunshine will be the pattern for the next three days in Seattle.

After a mainly cloudy and cooler Labor Day weekend, sunnier skies and warmer temperatures are ahead for the first week of September. Several heat alerts will go into effect until Thursday.  

The first week of September will turn toasty by mid-week with highs back in the mid-80s as residents in the region start to look ahead at fall, including the last 8 p.m. sunset and the return of the 'Big Dark'.
