Seattle weather: Slightly cooler Thursday with a return of the 70s Friday

Thursday cools slightly, to near 88 as our ridge starts to exit the PNW. And by Friday temps drop into the mid 70s as cooler air hits Puget Sound.

Strong high pressure remains in control over the PNW through Wednesday, keeping temperatures in the HOT zone. This will keep us under a couple of alerts.

Things will feel relatively cooler on Friday with temps in the upper 70s. There is still an increased fire danger risk.

The "Excessive Heat Warnings" will continue into Wednesday along with "Red Flag Warnings" into late Tuesday. These conditions are extremely dangerous for fire weather, especially since we are not forecasting rain in the near future.

This heat alerts are with us through Wednesday as temperatures will soar above average again Tuesday and Wednesday. We expect slight cooling by Thursday.
